School Year 2023/24
The dance program had a busy April! Attending a dance competition in Vancouver, workshops, and the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival.
Spectrum dancers received the Overall Secondary Shield along with the Secondary Young Choreographer's Shield and The Nancy Ferguson Shield which is given to a school that demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to developing a strong dance culture at their school. Additionally, two pieces got selected to compete in the BC Provincial festival.
A congratulations goes out to our Advanced Dancers! They placed first place in the Level Up Competition in Surrey in both the jazz and contemporary dances.

Advanced Dance at DanceWorks
We are very proud of our advanced dancers and how they represented Spectrum as a whole after a long couple of years of limited opportunities to perform on a big stage! Advanced Dance received platinum (90+) and first place for both their hip hop and jazz piece as well as 2 trophies at DanceWorks Competition. VIVIAN FRANCES BRIGGS TROPHY: Awarded to a jazz/lyrical group showing clean technique, musicality, and a pleasing performance STREET ROSE BOWL: Awarded to the most outstanding presentation in street, 18 years and under. |

Our juniors performed 1 number and received first place in the Jazz Category.
Our advanced group performed 9 numbers and placed with 6 of them.
